Day 1: Arrival

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) and meet your representative for a transfer to the hotel. Settle in, enjoy the hotel facilities, and attend an evening briefing where managers and guides will check your gear and prepare you for the climb ahead.

Day 2: Marangu Gate to Mandara Hut

After breakfast, drive to Marangu Gate to complete park formalities before beginning the trek. Hike through lush rainforest to Mandara Hut, where lunch is served and huts are assigned. This first trekking day helps your body start adjusting to altitude.

Day 3: Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut

Trek uphill through forest and heathland to Horombo Hut, with scenic views of Kibo and Mawenzi volcanoes. After lunch, complete a short acclimatization hike toward Kibo Hut before returning to Horombo for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Acclimatization Day at Horombo Hut

Spend the day acclimatizing with a longer hike toward Kibo Hut and back. The afternoon is free to rest, explore the surroundings, or take photos. Staying an extra night at the same altitude improves acclimatization for the higher camps.

Day 5: Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut

Trek across the alpine desert to Kibo Hut. The walk is steady and gradual, allowing you to conserve energy for summit night. After arriving, have lunch, rest, hydrate, and prepare your gear for the overnight ascent.

Day 6: Summit Attempt – Uhuru Peak, then Descent to Horombo Hut

Depart around midnight for the summit climb to Uhuru Peak. After reaching the top and celebrating, descend back to Kibo Hut for a short rest, then continue down to Horombo Hut for the night. This is the longest and most challenging day of the trek.

Day 7: Horombo Hut to Marangu Gate

Descend through moorland and rainforest to Marangu Gate. After exiting the park, celebrate your achievement, receive your summit certificates, and transfer back to the hotel for a well-earned rest.

Day 8: Departure

Relax at the hotel before your scheduled transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport for departure. Late check-out is available on request for evening flights.
