Olpopongi Maasai Cultural Village Day Trip
This immersive cultural excursion takes you to Olpopong...
Touch down in Arusha and let your safari begin. You’ll be welcomed and transferred to your hotel where you can rest or, if time allows, explore the town’s vibrant markets, cafes, or shaded lawns. Tonight’s stay sets the tone for your eight-day exploration of Tanzania’s wilderness.
After breakfast, depart for Tarangire National Park, where ancient baobabs dot broad grasslands and large herds of elephants make their daily rounds. Your game drive travels along the life-giving river, bringing you close to grazing zebras, buffalo and, with luck, stalking predators. The evening brings you to your camp near the park for dinner under open skies.
Set out early for your journey into the famed Serengeti National Park. Enter the western corridors that feed into the great plains, an area known for its diversity of animals and scenic riverine landscapes. This afternoon’s drive offers your first deep taste of Serengeti wildlife and endless horizons where game moves freely.
Today is all about wide-open spaces and dramatic wildlife movement. Drive toward the Northern Serengeti, an area often pulsing with the rhythms of the Great Migration — herds of wildebeest and zebra flowing across grasslands as predators watch from the tall grass. Enjoy another unforgettable day on safari under Serengeti skies.
Venture back toward the central Serengeti, a wildlife theatre where predators and prey enact age-old dramas against a backdrop of kopjes and rolling plains. With expert guidance, explore the park’s famed Seronera region, known for its density of lions, leopards, and more. Dine and rest surrounded by untamed beauty.
Descend into the vast amphitheatre of the Ngorongoro Crater, one of the world’s last intact volcanic calderas and a haven for wildlife. Here, the crater floor plays host to dense populations of elephant, rhino, buffalo, zebra, and lion. Your game drive winds between lush grasses and glistening pools before you climb back up to your lodge in the highlands.
Today’s rhythm changes as you head toward the shores of Lake Eyasi, home to indigenous hunter-gatherer communities. Enjoy an authentic cultural exchange and learn age-old traditions shaped by the land. Continue toward Materuni Village, nestled beneath the shadow of Kilimanjaro, where you’ll visit cascading waterfalls and discover the art of coffee making straight from the farm.
After a final breakfast of bush memories, transfer from your lodge back to Arusha, where your safari comes to an end. Depending on your departure time, you may have the option to explore local artisanal markets or enjoy a relaxed lunch before your onward journey.
