Tarangire National Park – Day Trip

This full-day safari takes you to Tarangire National Park, one of northern Tanzania’s most wildlife-rich and scenically distinctive parks, located approximately two to three hours from Arusha.

Tarangire is especially famous for its large elephant populations and towering ancient baobab trees that dominate the landscape. During the dry season, the Tarangire River becomes a vital water source, attracting herds of zebra, wildebeest, buffalo, giraffe, and antelope. Predators such as lions and leopards are often found nearby, taking advantage of the concentrated wildlife.

Your day begins with an early departure from Arusha, arriving in the park mid-morning for a game drive through varied terrain including open savanna, acacia woodland, and riverine vegetation. The park is also a paradise for bird lovers, with over 500 recorded species.

A picnic lunch is enjoyed inside the park at a designated site overlooking the river or plains, followed by an afternoon game drive before returning to Arusha in the late afternoon.
